Serial Number Lookup

Click here to download the Serial Number Guide

The Serial Number Guide can be used to help pinpoint an approximate age of a Gemeinhardt flute or piccolo or provide model equivalence for discontinued models. Since 1948, Gemeinhardt has built over a million flutes and consequently, can’t provide an exact guide to serial numbers for every single instrument, but we can provide an approximation for most instruments. Please read the introductory information carefully. If you are unsure about your instrument’s model number, check the barrel engraving. Model numbers are almost always the shorter numbers, whereas serial numbers can range up into six-digit numbers.

Gemeinhardt cannot address requests for information pertaining to online auctions of musical instruments. We deal in newly manufactured instruments only and unfortunately cannot assess value, identify or give specs on older models. Some of this information is contained in the Serial Number Guide. You may also wish to contact your local Gemeinhardt dealer for assistance. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to any Gemeinhardt instrument. Alternatively, you may wish to do an online search to locate additional information on your instrument.
